Free Games Sites are those that offer games for play on the personal computer. Though there are over a thousand games available many of the same games are on each site. Addicting Games has both downloadable and web games in a multitude of genres. Free memberships allow for reviews and profiles, as well as getting to know the other players.

Nick Arcade Games

Neopets (originally NeoPets) is a virtual pet website launched by Adam Powell and Donna Williams on 15 November 1999.Two years after the web site was launched, Adam Powell and Donna Williams sold a majority share to a consortium of investors led by Doug Dohring. On 20 June 2005, Viacom bought Neopets, Inc. for US$160 million.

Neopets is based around the virtual pets that inhabit the virtual world of Neopia. Visitors can create an account and take care of up to four virtual pets, buying them food, toys, clothes, and other accessories using a virtual currency called Neopoints. Neopoints can be earned through playing games, investing in the game's stock market, trading, and winning contests. Neopets also operates a pay-to-play version known as Neopets Premium, which offers additional features and benefits for a monthly fee of US$7.99. Microsoft Network's The Zone offers six ways to play over 1,000 games: Free Online games, PC Downloads available for purchase, subscription games from GameSpring, MSN Messenger, Vista Enhanced and Cash games. They are divided into six genres: Puzzle, Word & Trivia, Card & Board, Action & Arcade, Poker & Casino and Pop Culture. Like most sites, they offer many of their games in a deluxe version for sale.

AOL/Games
 AOL has joined with Games.com to provide nearly 700 free games in half a dozen categories, including Board and Card games, Arcade games, Word games, Sports games and Puzzles. The site has an association with Pogo Club membership game service and offer many of their games in a deluxe version for sale. They are also affiliated with WorldWinner for cash game play.

Yahoo! Games
 Yahoo! Games has over eight hundred PC based games. They offer Board, Card, Puzzles, Arcade and Word games. These games are web-based and downloadable games. Like most sites, they offer many of their games in a deluxe version for sale.  The site has an association with Pogo Club membership game service and King.com for skill games.

Pogo Games
The Pogo Games offers Puzzles, Word, Card, Board, Arcade and Sports games. Besides the free games, they offer free limited use versions of the downloadable games. Many of the site's download games are available in web-based versions. The site offers cash and prize packages for many of their free games. Membership in the subscription service Pogo Club is now only $29.95 a year.

GameHouse
The site that offers a new game daily, GameHouse has game genres in both online games and downloadable. The web-based and downloadable game genres have both PC and Mac games that include Puzzle, Hidden Object, Match, Jigsaw, Action, Arcade, Time Management, Mahjong,  Card, Board, Word Games. They also offer Kids games.  

Free World Group

Free World Group offers their In-House Games, Free Content and FWG Collections, as well as Adventure/Role Playing Games (RPG), Arcade/Action, Board, Brain Teaser, Cards/Casino, Multi-Player, Puzzle, Quick, Sports, Strategy and Travel Story Games.
